Prayer

God does not need us to pray in order to inform Him of how things are going here on Earth. He is all knowing, already. 

We do not pray in order to somehow give advice to God on what He should do. "Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too difficult for Me?" Jer 32:27

And we do not pray in order to somehow change God's mind about His plans. "The earth is the Lord's and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it" Psalm 24:1 

We pray in order to change ourselves and conform to the ways and plans of God. "If you abide in Me, My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you" John 15:7
